Sara Thackwray is the Deputy Principal of a Reggio-Emilia-inspired primary school, where she teaches English and Social Science.
She graduated cum laude with an MA in English Literature from Nelson Mandela University in April 2017. Her earlier BA from the University of Cape Town (2006) majored in English, Philosophy and Media and Writing. She also completed an Honours year in English Literature (2012) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (2007), both of which were also awarded cum laude. In previous years, she has worked as a high school educator, research assistant, events planner and administrator. She is a lover of books, which she believes are best accompanied by good food and wine. When it comes to the written word, she is passionate about organisation, optimisation, efficiency and aesthetics.
Sara is married to Nic and they have four children, Nathanael, Eva, Jude and Esther. She calls Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth home.
